Hello

I just started up my own skalinks directory but want to give my website a more "personal" feel to the stock code that comes with the package...

Do I need to edit the index.php file to do this or are there other files that must be edited to give the website its own feel?

From my main page, I looked at the source and it was plain HTML, but my question was did the index.php file generate this or does another file or files do this?

thanks for your help

If you want to make custom design you should change files in "templates" folder. For instance, templates/index.tpl file is responsible for index.php file display. Skalinks uses Smarty template engine. For more info smarty.php.net.

I don't know if this helps, but i am taking a different, maybe incorrect approach to the whole idea of site integration. I installed skalinks, stuck it in its own directory /links/ gave it its own database and then went to write (try to write im a newb at php/mysql) my own registration form, then I manually add links to skalink, through the admin panel, then on my links page, i have it set up to display the folders, with link count (note, not the links page within skadate, one i coded myself within my original pages) and inside its category, i have it set to pull the links from the database and display them. I like what skalink does, works very nicley, but i wanted to integrate it, and cant decipher the original coding enough to hack it, so decided to write some front end code. works great. (except im hoping i cant get the page rank feature to work somehow, i dont know if skadate will calculate page rank, unless the person clicks on the links within skadate..)
