I just installed SKALINKS 1.5 this morning, and setup a few categories, but I can't add any links. Everytime I click on a category, I just get a Page Not Found error. I'm logged in as the admin (although I changed the username and password). Looked at all the documentation, nothing there seems to solve it.

You should disable Modrewrite on the Control Panel.
Links are generated as "cat_name/index.html".

As a win user, I can't use CPanel ;)
Can you be more detailed, on how to solve the problem in windows xp?
The error I recieve is (I have then the same page not found problem):

i have also installed skalinks in my new webdirectory but while i was checking it does not show any index.html pge you can check it here

vccowner, the cpannel of the directory: www.your-domain.com/links/admin.
You should disable Modrewrite in http://www.your-domain/links/admin/settings.php?s_name=dis_url

I have the same problem and the problem is that its generate a index.html file and not index.php file

there are quite a few things we found wrong with this script.
1) unable to log out of admin
Clearing cache' cookies didnt work
2) after clearing out cache' still logged straight into admin
3) unable to create directories, and subdirectories
4) Error messages
5) setting 777 on a .htdocs can be dangerious
6) bad token message after set up
All this after 5 installs seem to repeat
repeated installs with 666 dir permissions on the directories that needed 755 didnt't have any effect. this was tried 5 more times.
deleated and created db for each install.....
???????

When you create directory and found this error, you have to contact to your web hosting.
Request him to change SAFE MODE RESTRICTION to be disable.
Then, you can enjoy this very good tool.
Maybe, you choose give some donate to owner.
He will willing to go ahead this program.
