Hi guys,
trying to install this script but I'm having problems...

You know the bit where you have to include $_dir_root on the install page?

Well, I've no idea what to put, I've tried what I thought it was and it says its invalid

my directory is on wwwroot and in a folder called directory so can anyone help me please?

Thanks
Rachael

Rachael I think the entry is simply this:

http://www.YOURDOMAIN.COM/directory/

Make sure you get the backslash !

Manual reference: http://www.skalinks.com/inst_manual.php#_5

Hello Rachael,

Please, read installation manual carefully.

$_dir_root - Here you should specify the correct path to the home directory of your site in the server file system. For example: /my/home/directory/

Note that trailing “/” symbol is mandatory!

I know, I've read it I just don't understand it, I'm not very technical when it comes to web design thats why I'm asking.

Ask your hosting provider about the correct path to the home directory of your site.

I've just done this and they said it would be
F:\Domains\theweddingsearch.co.uk\wwwroot\directory\ But, I've tried this and it still doesn't work

What kind of server are you on ? I presumed you were on a hosting service running Apache or similar, and this is obviously not the case if you are on someone's "F" drive.

Is this windows server or something ?

Rachael,

Try to disable Java Script in your browser and reinstall script.

Try this

\wwwroot\directory\

The problem you are experiencing is that it is not finding the programs and is therefor failing. If SKALINKS is in the above directory it should be okay putting the above into the install script.

You can also look in the header.php file which is where the information ends up... give it a look - it contains descritptions of what the settings do right in the file.

Sorry you are having such difficulty. SKA's advice is far more expert than anything I can offer, I am just trying to be helpful. So if we are not in agreement go with his opinion.
