I have the floowing menu:
Add Category, Add Link, FindURL, Login, Register as Editor, Directory Tree

Below this, I have:
Link Exchange Scripts (1)

When I click on Link Exchange Scripts I get an error (page not found) it is looking for;
http://www.selfimprovementtechniques.com/skalinks_1_5/link_exchange_sc ripts/index.html

I don't have a link_exchange_scripts directory (it wasn't installed), also it appears to be looking for a html file and not php.

Also, when I click on Directory Tree, nothing happens.

Also, when I click on Add Category , I am told that I cannot create a category in the root directory.

Please advise on the above.

I want to set up various categories for my link exchanges.

Hello Robin OBrien
At first, thn's for choise SkaLinks.
You didn't set chmod 777 for skalinks_root_dir before starting installation process.
Also, please, check did you uploaded .htaccess file to your skalinks directory, which is present in skalinks archive?
Thakn's again!

Hi, I have the same problem as Robin. Just so Im with you, what exactly means 777 rights in IIS ? Is it giving the windowns user: "iurs_[comp_Name]" full rights on the home folder ?

Hi
Rights 777 in Windows OS means, that you need to set full control for anybody for specified folder.

Thanks

you do not have to chmod 777 servers running under windows xp, this only applies to unix based systems

Robin
I don't have a link_exchange_scripts directory (it wasn't installed), also it appears to be looking for a html file and not php.

Login into Admin/Control Panel and click on Rebuild Categories

Also, when I click on Add Category , I am told that I cannot create a category in the root directory. you must be logged in as admin to add categories in the root directory.

and remember people you do not have to chmod 777 servers running under windows xp and when you enter the path to the root directory omit the drive letter or you will get an error.
